British Wildlife Centre

Today was my 3rd visit to the British Wildlife Centre in Surrey. There really is no better place to get photographs of red squirrels.
If you do go, I strongly suggest however, you arrive early because the squirrel's are fed at 10:30 and after they've had their fill and done their showstopping theatrics, I'm convinced they go back to their hides, put their feet up and watch a bit of TV, and then you barely see them for the rest of the day, so get there early!

Attaining giraffe heights

One of the latest developments at Whipsnade Zoo, is the new viewing platform known as Giraffe Heights. The main advantage of this new building is that after climbing the 15 foot, or so ramp, that leads up to the viewing platform, you find yourself at the exact same height as the giraffe's themselves-or you would be, if they weren't all in their house sitting down, as they were today! Still, it's a well designed building which I'm sure will be both beneficial to not only the giraffes themselves but also to the many thousands of visitors still to come, who have all, I'm sure, been invited along to their massive house warming party...
